We met friends at the Peculiar Rabbit for dinner. Located on Pecan Avenue in the Plaza Midwood area, near the Chantilly neighborhood, Peculiar Rabbit (aka. Funny Bunny) has become a mainstay eatery for Charlotteans.

We started with some creative cocktails over conversation and eventually moved to dinner. Our table ordered their famous chicken and waffles, lamb burger with goat cheese, and the Margarita Chimichanga. All the offers were perfectly prepared. My chicken and waffles had some of the best Southern fried chicken on top of a crisp waffle with just the right quirky twist of sriracha syrup. Absolute yum. We lingered at our table as we savored sweet potato pie amidst the funky, warm pub atmosphere.

Known for their weekend brunch, this is a cool spot to relax on a long day of house hunting. Peculiar Rabbit has a convenient location to many neighborhoods on the South side of mid-town, from South End to NODA and Myers Park to Elizabeth.
