Charlotte’s Top Three Burger Spots

It’s summer time, and with that comes the allure of one of the greatest main dishes in American history: The Hamburger. Now in Charlotte, one doesn’t have to search all that long and hard to find a good burger. But the great burgers in town? Sometimes that’s like finding a needle in a haystack, but worry no longer, this is what this article is for, helping you find the three best places in Charlotte to fulfill your need for a patriotic meal.

1) The Liberty 1812 South Boulevard Charlotte, NC

The Liberty is one of the pricier spots in the Queen City to go get a burger, located in South End. It’s also one of the most fulfilling burgers that you’ll likely taste in the state. Try their Black Angus Liberty Pub Burger, which has a lovely herb aioli that pops off on the tongue and makes you want to take the time to slow down and savor the burger. Or if you want something a tad more exotic, try the Colorado Exotic Lamb Burger which has grilled eggplant on top of a carefully cooked lamb patty.

2) Bang Bang Burger 2001 E. 7thStreet Charlotte, NC

This Elizabeth burger spot is an up and comer because of its fresh Pat LaFrieda Angus beef. Bang Bang also gets its brioche buns from local Charlotte bakery Duke’s Bread, and its freshness is readily known upon the first bite. In fact, every single ingredient pumps out that great freshness that makes this a place you’ll want to go over and over again. For those who love their burger a bit higher on the Scoville side, go for the TNT burger, which has fried jalapenos AND ghost pepper cheese on it.

3) Brooks Sandwich House 2710 N. Brevard Street Charlotte, NC

This small red brick building in NoDa has been one of Charlotte’s best kept secrets for years, and inside it contains a true staple of Charlotte culture. Brooks Sandwich House won’t provide you with a ton of options (hint: just ask for the burger “all the way” and thank me later), but what it does offer is that old school greasy burger that will keep you coming back for more. Only open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., get there early to avoid the massive lunch rush that comes, because it is just that good.
